Well, as some of you will probably now know after Jon posted on his LJ that Bunker 13 is on hold until we can find another venue.
The tosser who 'manages' Cert 18 in York decided to announce, via email, that we could no longer have the bookings for the rest of the year because of the low numbers on the 6th May event. We had previously mentioned the Covenant gig to him and he had said not to worry, these things happen. It wouldn' be so bad but we had just got a load more flyers done to promote the July event. He wouldn't even honour the July one unless we would pay a ridiculous deposit. Oh sorry, this would be refunded to us providing we could get punters to spend £600 at the back bar !! He needs to get his equipment fixed before he starts demanding stupid money. I'm so glad Jon ended up dealing with him because I don't know what I would've said to him. Quite possibly a string of expletives. So, this weekend will be spent on the hunt for a new venue. Any ideas would be welcomed. If any of you feel peeved that another one of York's night's has been canned, please feel free to send your complaints to Cert 18 !! |

It's been so long since I've been on LJ but since having little Helmut, he demands a lot of my attention therefore not leaving much time for anything else (he is sat on my knee at the moment, supervising !).
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of the people who turned up to mine and djcheekycyberchappie's first night of Bunker 13 on Saturday. It was a great success in the end and I know I had a brilliant night.
The next one unfortunately clashes with the Covenant gig but, these things happen. I hope those of you who aren't going to see them will come along and have a night of good music with us !!!

I now know how it must feel to be a Mum ! Well, I am I suppose. Sleepless nights, mopping up wee, preparing meals - you get the picture ! My little puppy is soooooo adorable and I love him to bits already. He's doing better now and is sleeping better during the night. We discovered that he doesn't actually like the dark ! So, when we go to bed we have to leave the light on for him !! How cute is that !! So, this weekend I am going to buy a lamp for him.
I've not been at work much this week. Was off Monday and Tuesday and am doing half days for the rest. It's great !
Not much else has been going on really. Have been trying to buy more CD's in preparation for Bunker 13. DJ Cheeky played me a cd by a band called Iambia wich was very good, so I bought it !!

Well, I'm glad that Steve got to the Phillipines OK. Me and Lekie have been worrying about him so it's good to hear he is safe and sound.
Helmut is here ! He's amazing and soooooo cute ! We had a reasonably unsettled night on Saturday and I still feel severely sleep deprived although today I feel better than I did yesterday ! He's settling down OK though, it's just going to take time. We've taken to calling him the Alpha Sausage !!!
I was with djcheeky on Friday making more preparations for Bunker 13 (see www.geocities.com/b_u_n_k_e_r_13/ for more info).
Hope his piercing party went OK too !
Well, gonna go now. Helmut needs his tea !

OK, it's only 3 days to go now until I pick my new puppy up !! I'm well excited as most of you who have seen me over the last couple of weeks will know !!! I think me and Lekie have bought everything we could possibly need for him.
Well, had a busy weekend (finishing off buying stuff for the puppy being one of things we were doing !). I DJ'd at Body Electric on Saturday. The last but one Body Electric. It was a shame that more people didn't come. I managed to get a few of the people there up dancing so at least they enjoyed what I played ! Played a few old favourites and an uber old favourite by Ultraviolence (Hardcore Motherfucker) which seemed to go down well ! I had a good time anyway !! Next month is the last one then (eeeek) it's the start of Bunker 13 ! Got a few bits and pieces left to do which should be sorted in the next couple of weeks then we're all ready !!!
Work is poo and I'd rather not be there, but hey, everyones thinks that don't they ?!!!!! |

Today I feel is a better day than the last few I've had.
It's still not that long since my fantastic and well loved Nan died (3rd Jan) and I've been finding sorting all the official matters out this week quite hard.
Had a surprise visit from blackmarx last night and a call from a friend that I haven't seen since Whitby last October so I'm feeling a bit better about myself today.
Going to Wendyhouse tonight so I'm hoping to see a few people there and hopefully enjoy myself since my attempt at enjoyed myself at Darklands last Saturday failed miserably.
I'm going now to have a play on my DJ decks and have a thing about what I'm going to play at the penultimate Body Electric on 4 February. I like to be prepared ..... !

Handed out more flyers and posters in York for Bunker 13 today (starts on 1st April by the way).

Well, the promotion of mine and DJ CCC's new night Bunker 13 began on Saturday at Darklands in York. Seemed to get a good response from people when I spoke to them and people said they look forward to it. It's starting to become more 'real' now we've started promoting ! It's exciting but also quite scary ! |
